138. November 1, 2010 - Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010)

You know what I really felt like watching a movie about? How terrible our economy is. That sounds like a fun time. Two years ago, when Paramount delayed The Soloist, they said it was because they didn't want to be insensitive by releasing a movie about homelessness so soon after the economic crash. Where were those people when this movie was greenlit? Carey Mulligan and Frank Langella are both great as they always are, but let's be honest. The first film never needed a sequel. And investment bankers did not make for sympathetic characters in the 80s - they certainly aren't going to now.
My Netflix rating: 2 stars
